This is a special painting for me and was inspired by a stay at a friend’s house down island. We could look out at the deep ocean, sometimes seeing dolphins, and turtles. The intricate sensual design of the passionflower fascinated me. There was a vine outside the window and I loved bringing them in to examine closer. The Purple Hibiscus is very rare. I found both blooming and had to capture them on canvas.
